FERRI FARAHMANDI

My large sculptures are hand-built using coiling technique with stoneware clay which are then fired to 1260°C in an electric kiln. My recent works are burnished, low-fired and finished by smoke firing in sawdust. This process infuses the surface of my sculptures with captivating visual textures and delicate patterns.

My work is influenced by the dynamics and elegance found in natural forms. The human form, for me, is the most beautiful.

My sculptures demonstrate the boundaries to our freedom within society. I explore this through the female form as I feel it allows for greater communication of both, emotional and physical nuances.
